We are excited to introduce the 6.6×6.6 Rotating Polarizer, with 1.5 stops of light loss. The new tray houses an unmounted 162mm circular polarizer and is made to interface with 6.6×6.6 matte boxes. Like its older brother, it is designed and manufactured in the USA from the same aircraft-grade aluminum and poly materials. The tray is also available without glass so you can purchase your own polarizer or special effects filters from leading manufacturers.

Built into a single-stage, self-contained unit, the Revar Cine Rotating Polarizer, or Rota-Pola, is a compact, easily-rotatable polarizing solution for most matte boxes that accept 6.6×6.6″ filters. Rather than requiring a full 6.6×6.6″ glass filter, the Rota-Pola tray uses an included 162mm-diameter filter which sits inside the rotating tray. If the polarizer needs to be adjusted, simply rotate one of the geared wheels that extend from the top of the tray on either side.

The included filter is a 162mm mid-efficiency circular polarizer, manufactured from Schott B270 glass. It features 38% transmission (1.5 stops of light loss) and Broadband anti-reflective coating for reducing unwanted flares. The tray itself has a lightweight and rigid aluminum construction.

Simply insert it into a top-loading 6.6×6.6 matte box tray slot and spin the gear on either side of the filter tray to rotate the filter inside. This allows for easy rotation of the filter without the need for cumbersome locking and unlocking of a rotating filter stage. This also allows for rotation of a filter in matte boxes that do not contain a rotating filter stage, or if a secondary rotating filter is needed in a non-rotating stage.

The Rota-Pola Tray also boasts features missing from other competitive products, such as standard 0.8 pitch gears on both sides of the filter tray for use from either the operator or assistant side of the camera, a 1/4″ clearance hole for mounting a wireless follow focus for remote crane or jib operation of the filter, and an overall lightweight, low-profile design.
